TWRA investigating fatal boating accident that occurred Saturday night on Watts Bar Lake

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is investigating a fatal boat accident that occurred near Blue Springs Marina on Watts Bar Lake Saturday afternoon.

Roane County EMS, Roane County Fire Department and the Roane County Medical Examiner’s Office met TWRA officers at the scene around 6 p.m. after a call came in about a single vessel accident with injuries.

TWRA says that a Hamilton County family of three was boating and crashed.

The medical examiner pronounced Don Campbell, 55, of Ooltewah dead at the scene due to injuries. Campbell’s wife was life-flighted to UT Medical Center. She is in stable condition at the hospital's ICU as of Sunday morning. The Campbells' child was taken to UT Medical Center by ambulance and later released to the family. 

The incident is under investigation.
